Next a coat of white gelcoat is applied to get every detail on the fish.

Once the gelcoat is dried , three to four layers of fiberglass matt is applied for strength. Once the four coats of matt are dried , the fish is rolled over and the process is repeated.

Upon completion of the backside, the mold is cut along the outer edge so separation of the two halves can begin.

Once the two halves are separated the fish will be remove and some of the parts will be collectedy by the marine research center for study.

The new mold is then cleaned and thoroughly dried.
