Once the gelcoat is dried a wet coat of resin is applied to ensure the
fiberglass matt will be fully saturated. |

Fiberglass matt is then laid on top of the resin soaked gelcoat to strengthen the body of the fish |
|
Once all the matt is laid, it is saturated with fiberglass resin and spread
evenly to reduce air pockets |

A roller is then run over the entire mold to eliminate any remaining air bubbles and voids |
|
A bead of talc and resin is run around the entire perimeter of the mold on both halves.
This will ensure a tight bond between the two halves of the mold |

Once the bead is run around the mold, it is placed together and clamped tightly
until the talc is dry. |
|
Once dried the clamps are removed and the cast popped out. |
|
The seams are then ground down and filled with a plastic
filler to bring back the natural shape. |
|
Finally the tail is reattached to the body to complete the reconstruction
process. The bill will be molded separately and added to each individual mount.
